As a free-lance journalist, I accompanied an American humanitarian volunteer for several weeks during his time in Ukraine. former Red Crescent member, and an ISIS prisonor escapee in Reyhanli and Gaziantep, Turkey.

I selected, wrote, and read news as well as commented on entertainment and lifestyle topics.
Print Journalist - Daily Titan, Kuwait/Iraq. March 2003 - May 2003.
As a print journalist for the California State University, Fullerton newspaper the Daily Titan, I was the only student reporter embedded with U.S. forces during the invasion of Iraq. I wrote soldier profiles for the paper the Redeye in Chicago, and news stories for the Kenosha News, the Ft. Topics included the history of various Native American culture groups and historically significant natural catastrophes such as volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, hurricanes, and tornado outbreaks.

Head Text Researcher - Real TV Inc. - Los Angeles, CA. March 1994 - August 1995.
I helped develop a six-episode documentary on the Revolutionary War for The Learning Channel. During production I was responsible for all text research and supervised several assistants. The series was narrated by Charles Kuralt and won the Cable Ace Award for Best Documentary Series in 1995.

Photographer - Afghanistan. Free-lance. July - August 1985.
I spent four weeks photographing the Mujahideen in Afghanistan during the Afghan-Soviet War. Afterwards, I wrote about my experiences for the University of Wisconsin-Madison student newspaper, the Daily Cardinal.

MILITARY EXPERIENCE:
U.S. ARMY: June 1981 - June 1983; WI Army National Guard: January 2005 - January 2006.
As an Infantryman (MOS 11B) from June 1981 to June 1983 I performed security duties at a "Special Weapons" site in the Federal Republic of Germany, had a "Secret" clearance, and was in the Army's "Personnel Reliability Program." From Jan. 2005 to Jan. 2006, I served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard as an Infantryman.
